Matt

Matt has been with CrossFit StPete for nearly three years and in that time he has made monster gains in fitness, strength, and endurance. As a self-described globo-gym devotee, Matt had held the typical definitions of strength and fitness as his standard: does it look good at the beach.

Once he got a taste of CrossFit standards and what it actually means to be fit and strong, Matt rededicated himself all over again and has been a dominating force in the gym ever since. His willingness to throw out his old concepts and methods has lead to massive strength gains, as well as vastly improved cardio-respiratory strength and endurance. His over-all fitness is now through the roof with no end in sight!

Fire-breather Interview

1) HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN CROSSFITTING?
About two years now

2). Describe your training prior to Crossfit. Were you a traditional conventional lifter who did back and biceps one day and chest and triceps the other? Were you the typical "globo gym boy" that thought you were in shape and ready for everything?
Just the boring stuff and a little bit of swimming , Yeah I work my chest and bi's got a good swell on, then off the to the beach.

The one-on-one coaching that is available has been invaluable.

7). You would rather poke your eyes out than do WHICH CROSSFIT WORKOUT?!!
Well that would have to be “Kalsu” or “Winchester”, both CrossFit Football WODs.

8) WHAT IS A MOVEMENT OR EXERCISE THAT WAS CHALLENGING FOR YOU TO FINALLY GET?
Landing a clean or a snatch in a proper squat.
HOW DID YOU GET THERE? Practice and still working on it

10) How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
